Easter Isn’t Canceled

Easter may look a little different this year than normal but we can’t forget the true reason for the season. We can still celebrate Easter in the comfort and safety of our own homes. I know a lot of churches have started broadcasting online including my church Elevation. It may feel strange not getting dressed up in your Sunday best for Easter but who said couldn’t get dressed up for online service?

If part of your tradition is to have an Easter egg hunt then do that too (with your household of course… social distancing still applies)! You can even get creative and have your Easter egg hunt inside. Myan wanted to switch it up a little bit and hide eggs from me so that has been one of our games this week.

Even though the mall Easter bunny isn’t available for your traditional pictures I’m sure there will be plenty of Easter filters floating around. Take a selfie with your quarantine crew. We may be stuck inside but we are still making memories with our families.

Can you believe I’ve never dyed eggs before? My friend Lauren sent me some toy eggs so Myan and I could dye them. Real eggs are hard to come by these days and since we don’t typically eat boiled eggs this was perfect. We both had a lot of fun and will be adding this to our yearly tradition.

One of my neighbors got an Easter cookie decorating kit from a local bakery. I thought this was such a good idea and a great way to support local businesses. Make sure to check around to see if any businesses in your area have special activities you can pick up for your family too.

I am looking forward to watching church online and connecting (virtually) with my family and friends. This pandemic has canceled and postponed many things but Easter isn’t one of them.
