If you live in the South you probably can’t tell if it’s the end of summer or the beginning because of the weather. The temperature has still been in the 90s and it doesn’t look like it will be cooling off anytime soon. I’ve listed some of our favorite water table activities that you can finish the summer off with.
Car Wash
Over the last few months, Myan has become super attached to his cars. Anytime I can think of different ways to incorporate his favorite toys I know it will be an exciting day for him. This also gave us the chance to really clean his cars from any germs they may have picked up. You can do this with any of your kids’ favorite toys. Mom Tip: Use your child’s tear-free body wash to prevent any tears and skin irritations.
Ice
On really hot days what better way to cool off than to play with ice? This is one of my favorites because it helps with fine motor, problem-solving, and hand-eye coordination. Ice is slippery so it will give your toddlers a bit of a challenge. I added a small shovel, rakes, and other items that he could use to scoop up the ice cubes. Dumping out all my ice also gave me a chance to clean out the ice bucket in the fridge. Another win-win. 😂
Just Add Water
Most kids just like to play in the water and there’s nothing else needed. I let Myan choose what toys he wants to add to the water (usually cars or balls). Cups and small pitchers are a good addition too because they can practice pouring.
As you can see Myan learned how to operate the water hose so the activity turned from the water table to chasing me. Mom Tip: If your toddler takes over the water hose let him/her spray you. It’s just water and these memories will last forever.
Other Options
You can always add sand to the table, make goop, or clean mud (warning: it’s clean but messy). 😂 If you don’t have a water table you can use a plastic storage bin. I like using them indoors on rainy days.
Let me know in the comments which ones you try and if you have any other creative activities for the water table. Xoxo
