Clothes, diapers, and wipes make great gifts but you may not always know what size to get. I’m making it easy for you this year and breaking down some of my favorite items to buy and why.
Sensory Books
Books are some of my favorite things to buy as a gift. Not just any regular board books but books that allow the exploration of multiple senses. These are perfect for young infants and up. They keep toddlers engaged and eager to read more. With adult help, not only can infants see the book but they can feel different textures and hear new sounds.

Blocks
I know what you’re thinking…how do babies play with blocks? Aren’t they too hard or too small? Yes, some of them are. There are actually blocks for all ages. Blocks help to develop fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. If you can’t tell I love choosing toys that are fun and educational.
Soft cloth blocks are perfect for babies because they can chew on them or cuddle with them. They are also machine washable so perfect for easy cleanup.
As they get older they can get the soft plastic blocks which is also great but still safe for older infants and young toddlers. Now they can begin stacking (well you can begin stacking and they can start knocking them over).
Baby B Elemenosqueeze Soft Blocks
Melissa & Doug K’s Kids Match & Build Soft Blocks Set
Mega Bloks First Builders Big Builder Bag
Fisher-Price Baby’s First Blocks
Infant Play Mats
Perfect for encouraging tummy time and getting your baby active. I have a few different mats for my son because I wanted to swap them out so he wouldn’t get bored. With all the moving around and because babies naturally spit up they are bound to get dirty. It’s nice to have a backup or two so the fun can continue while the others are getting washed.
The Emily & Merit Activity Gym
Disney Baby Mr. Ray Ocean Lights Activity Gym
Bright Starts Monkey Business Musical Activity Gym
Bright Starts Tummy Time Prop & Play Mat
Fisher-Price 2-in-1 Flip & Fun Activity Mat
Infantino Go Gaga! Infant To Toddler Play Gym & Fun Teepee
Educational Toys
All of the items I’ve listed previously contribute to a child’s development but these toys are tailored to teach them specific skills. I love to buy toys that are both educational and fun.
VTech Explore And Write Activity Desk
Osmo New Little Genius Starter Kit
Sesame Street Elmo’s On The Go Letters
Pretend Play
This is probably one of my favorite categories because you can teach children so many different things. Kids always want to help us around the house so why not get them their own mini versions of what we have?
LeapFrog Scrub ‘n Play Smart Sink
KidKraft Artisan Island Play Kitchen
LeapFrog Count Along Cash Register
Fisher-Price Laugh & Learn Learning Kitchen
LeapFrog Scoop & Learn Ice Cream Cart
I will continue to add to this list as I discover new gift ideas. Feel free to let me know in the comments some of your favorites that I may have left off. Happy Shopping! xoxo
