I am definitely a book nerd. I’ve loved reading since I was a little kid. I’m probably the only person that used to walk through the mall holding my mom’s hand while reading a book in the other hand. I am a huge fan of sci-fi and thriller books. Give me a sci-fi trilogy and you probably won’t hear from me for a while. Most people binge Netflix shows… I binge sci-fi books. I get so hooked on a story that can’t put it down until it’s finished.
I’ve started reading more books via Kindle because I have a toddler and a dog that haven’t quite learned to appreciate books yet. I’ve lost a lot of my great trilogies to my dog, so e-books it is. Having an e-book also makes it easier for me to sneak a few pages in while I’m working on other things.
My friend Thomas just put me on to this new trilogy called The Nyxia Triad and in just a few days I’ve read the majority of it. I became hooked on book one, Nyxia, after only reading a few pages.
The author of Nyxia, Scott Reintgen, lives in my home state, North Carolina. He was a teacher that wanted to be an inspiration to a diverse demographic and I believe he has succeeded. It all started when he created a book club in his English class. One of his African American students thought the book club was a good idea but none of the characters in the story looked like him. Through this encounter, Nyxia was created and I am ecstatic.
I pray that this trilogy will become a movie just like some of my other favorites. I won’t spoil the book but it is an out of this world, page-turner you just need to read for yourself. The second book, Nyxia Unleashed, is already out and I can’t wait to see what twist and turns it will bring. The last book is expected to release in the spring of 2019. I’ll probably go crazy waiting but it will be well worth it.
