It was really hard to narrow it down to five moments because my dad is hilarious and fun to hang out with. He’s my forever fishing partner and I will continue to cherish all of our past and future memories together. For this Father’s Day, I decided to take you down memory lane and share some of my favorite moments so far.
#1 Our fishing trips. If you don’t know by now I LOVE to fish. It is super relaxing and fun for me. Thanks to my dad I’ve been fishing since I could walk. We’ve had so many fun moments fishing that I had to tackle them all in one box. Get it…tackle box? We’ve taken countless fishing trips and some of my favorites were the overnight fishing trips at James River Fishing Pier. There’s nothing like fishing all night and watching the sunrise over the water. #2 Our first professional football and basketball game. We got the chance to experience our first NFL and NBA game together and it was priceless. We are huge sports fanatics and this was perfect for both of us.
#3 My wedding. Every little girl dreams about the day her dad gets to walk her down the aisle and my dream came true on September 27th, 2015. It was a classic moment that I’ll never forget. I definitely can’t forget about the dance. I was two seconds from bawling like a baby when my dad decides to ask if we should change up our slow dance to do the stanky leg. I couldn’t do anything but laugh for the rest of the song.
#4 Meeting Myan for the first time. My son was born a few days before my dad’s birthday so he got to meet him on his birthday. It was a proud moment for both of us. I’ll never be able to top that birthday gift.
#5 Convincing him to go on a cruise. I’ve been trying to get my dad to go on a cruise for YEARS! Thanks to Myan, we were able to convince him to go last year. I still can’t believe he went but I’m so happy that he did. Of course, there had to be a hurricane on our last night of the cruise that made all of us seasick. I doubt I’ll be getting him to cruise again anytime soon and I don’t blame him.
I want to wish all the dads a Happy Father’s Day and I encourage you to continue making priceless memories. To my Dad, I love you and I can’t wait for our next adventure. Xoxo
